In continuation of his visits to traditional rulers in the South West to canvas support for his re-election in the forthcoming elections, President Goodluck Jonathan will visit the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade
Sijuade and Owa of Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran among other traditional rulers in the state.
Dubbed a private visit, sources within his party, PDP, said the Presidency had yet to approve his visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo, as at the time of filing this report.
Impeccable sources told Saturday Sun that the president, during the visit, would discuss issues relating to the forthcoming elections, as especially on how to get the support of the Yoruba race.
Though there was nothing to suggest the visit of President Jonathan to Osogbo, however, there was unusual large security presence along Ife/Ibadan express way.
Saturday Sun also gathered that there had been heavy presence of armed policemen along Ilesa/Akure Express Way yesterday to beef up security ahead of the visit.
President Jonathan, we further gathered, would be accompanied by the secretary, South West Presidential Campaign Committee of the PDP, Engr. Ezekiel Olajide Adeniji and other chieftains of the party from all the South West states.
Commenting on the visit, a PDP chieftain and former executive assistant to Osun State governor on Students Matters, Mr. Funmiso Babarinde, said party members across the state were being mobilized to give the president a befitting welcome.
